THE WORLD'S SMALLEST CUPCAKE
While celebrating their national Cupcake Week, cupcake bakeries cooked away aiming for fame in Britain.  Sayer's and Hampson's, a British cafe chain made the news September 15, 2009 creating the World's Smallest Cupcake.  A mere 1.5 cm wide and 3 cm in height, the cupcake is quite the wonder!  The cupcake required less than one egg, and only 30 minutes of baking to concoct! Though according to Sayers, the Guinness Book of Records entry for the World’s Smallest Cupcake has never been recorded, we think this one takes the cake as winner!
~
Our minis may not be this small, but they certainly are record-breaking just for their indescribable taste! Come on in Suite 112, 77 Cornell St. Kingston NY to try some of our cupcakes Wednesdays and Thursdays 10am-5pm! XO

Lance Bass chose Red Velvet to spice up his birthday while in L.A.
With Hollywood running the world lately, it seems that most of the latest trends would derive from celebrity culture.  In terms of culinary preference it has been made obvious that Red Velvet cupcakes will forever remain an all time favorite treat to many Hollywood Stars!

The Boyz II Men crew, Angela Simmons, Lance Bass, Pete Wentz, Jermain Neil, Jessica Simpson, Joey Fatone, Ashlee Simpson, and Jessica Alba are few of many celebrities with a fetish for the
 reds!

Starting off slowly at first, Red Velvet Cake saw its fame heighten exponentially in the 1960's.  Appearing in nationwide newspapers such as the "Washington Post," and "Spokesman-Review," as the "Red Carpet Cake," it seemed that this new crimson form of a sweet treat would take culinary culture by the storm.

...but perhaps Red Velvet Cake can attribute its renewed growth in fame to its debut in the 1989 film, "Steel Magnolias," which featured a wacky red velvet armadillo-shaped cake for the groom!  In 2002, Red Velvet took the cake again, as it was selected by Jessica Simpson to flavor her five-tiered wedding cake as she tied the knot with Nick Lachey.

So come join us in the celebration of a favored flavor!  See us in Suite 112, 77 Cornell St. Kingston every Wednesday from 10am-5pm to get your red velvet fix :)
XO

Ever ponder where the delicious, scrumptious dessert cupcakes comes from? The cupcake dates all the way back to right after World War I! There are two different theories about the origin of the name cupcakes.

The first theory is, the name is based on the amount of ingredients that was used for making a cake, a cup of flour, butter, and sugar.

The second theory is, cakes were originally baked in small clay cups, tea cups, or ramekins! Not sure which to believe, both theories are true. There are old cookbooks that support both theories. Often Cupcakes were seen to  be convenient because they did not take as long as large cakes took to bake and they also did not burn!

So purchase a piece of history and visit us for Cupcake Wednesday's at 77 Cornell Street Suite 112 Kingston, NY from 10-5.
